Sales have been rising for the PlayStation 3 ever since the holiday season of 2007, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping Sony and their well known generousness. We have just been told that Sony will literally give you a 40gb PlayStation 3 unit to those who pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots at participating retailers in America.

Have you pre-ordered MGS4 yet? Well now is better a time than ever, as Sony will include a free PS3 console when you pick up your copy on 6/12/2008. This may seem odd, as games are the ones that usually push consoles out the door, not vice versa, but we all know Sony likes to try new things once in a while.
