In a recent interview with Bethesda Softworks, creators of the award winning Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, it was revealed that Fallout 3 will have over 200 unique endings and is nearing completion. Read more after the break.
“Being that we are Bethesda, everything gets a bit big, so as of last week we were over 200 endings,” said Todd Howard, executive producer of Fallout 3.
Yeah, what would you do with a whopping serving of 200 endings? Complete them all? Drive yourself insane trying to beat them all? We vote for the latter.
Fallout 3 promises over 100 hours of gameplay in the massive open world, and is scheduled to be released for consoles and the PC later this year.

5What the crap? I mean, playing a game over a few times to see different endings is nice but this…
Just imagine the time it’d take to write a guide!

6a game with 2 endings would be cool. 3 to 5 would be albeit understanding. 6 or more would be… eh, good if your trying to waste time. but 200 endings?? give me a break.

8Maybe we won’t have to buy games anymore.

9They’ll be like Fallout 1/2’s “many” endings. There’s really only two, maybe just one, but the game breaks into a monologue covering the long-term impact of your actions in various major locations. Even with Fallout, you can get all of the possible outcomes in three plays through, but there’s several dozen combinations.

10I agree with Hevach. The game will most likely feature several different cutscenes, that make up an ending, which are then rearranged to make one unique ending. Example: There are three scenes, A, B and C. Any combination of these three scenes could be counted as a distinct ending (such as AB, ABC, BC, CB, B, CAB, etc.). By doing this you would get 15 possible endings out of only three scenes. With 5 scenes there would already be 325 possible combinations.

11Bethesda did not create the fallout series, they bought the IP and are producing the third title. ~_~
