Microsoft and Epic Games have released the first downloadable content for Gears of War. Available for free thanks to Discovery Channel, the Map Pack #1 (98.62 MB) contains two new maps for the versus multiplayer mode, including one where players fight around a downed King Raven helicopter.

Additionally, you can also find a Gears of War Map Pack 1 Theme (4.26MB) and an introductory video by CliffyB, available in both standard and high definition.

Epic also released yesterday an update to the game that fixes several known issues. To learn more about what was addressed in this update, click here.

Below you can find the description as well as the first images of “Raven Down” and “Old Bones”:

Raven Down

A Raven Helicopter has gone down in the middle of a large scale battle with the omnipresent Locust Horde. Gears have taken out the Seeder and gamers join Delta Forces moving into the crash site from all angles to search for survivors.

Old Bones

Each gamer’s mission is to help the Delta Force recapture the museums before all remnants of humankind’s existence are obliterated.
